The Primo Precision Control Kit Large is the temperature controller listed for the Primo Oval Large. These kits are size-specific, so the Large has its own and it is the one to order if that is the grill in your yard.
Keep the two categories apart in your head when you shop: a thermometer answers the question of how hot the grill is; a controller answers the question of how to keep it that way. This kit is a controller, which is why it suits anyone whose cooking has drifted towards long smokes and away from quick weeknight grilling.
Primo’s Ovals use an oval firebox rather than a round one, which gives a longer cooking bed and makes two-zone cooking straightforward, with coals banked at one end and indirect heat at the other. A controller and a two-zone setup solve different halves of the same problem, one holding the temperature and the other deciding where the heat goes. Built for the Primo Oval Large ceramic charcoal grill, it works well alongside Primo heat deflector plates for the Oval Large.
